Man Utd dressing room comes under attack after Bruno Fernandes screams at players

Manchester United players have been accused of being ‘lazy’ in an astonishing attack after it emerged Bruno Fernandes had screamed at players in the aftermath of the club’s recent defeat to Manchester City. The Red Devils were blown away as hat-tricks from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland gave the reigning Premier League champions all three points. And there was then a crunch showdown in the away dressing room following the fixture.

Manchester United had no answer for City earlier in the month, with Foden and Haaland putting in stellar showings for Pep Guardiola’s team.

And, after the game, Fernandes led an inquest in the Red Devils dressing room following the defeat.

It emerged the United star, along with Lisandro Martinez, screamed at other members of the squad with Erik ten Hag allowing the row to play out.

Now, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie has hailed Fernandes for his actions - ripping apart other members of the squad by branding them ‘lazy’.

“When you are getting beaten, it is embarrassing,” he told Football Insider

“Fernandes has been there, seen it, done it. Him screaming at players is a good thing.

“[Cristiano] Ronaldo tried to talk to them when he came but he said nobody was interested. What a scathing thing to be called that.

“Fernandes shouting and balling, it is a good thing and they need more of it

“It doesn’t matter who the manager is, the best manager in the world could not turn that team in to winners.

“There are too many lazy people, too many people not chasing the ball and not doing the basics.

“They lose the ball and they fling their hands up in the air, it is embarrassing. Players have got to be fighting for their place.
